Cited to Support

May's allegation that the Confrontation Clause applies to testimonial hearsay introduced against a criminal defendant; that hearsay consists of out-of-court statements offered to prove the truth of the matter asserted; and that statements offered for their truth are subject to confrontation protections. May cites Anderson v. United States for the distinction between hearsay and nonhearsay uses of out-of-court statements, and relies upon that distinction to support his claim that statements attributed to Darrell Godfrey were introduced for their truth without affording the Defendant an opportunity for cross-examination.
