May's allegation that the trial court excluded testimony from Dr. Ram Raheja concerning Darrell
Godfrey's psychiatric history and mental condition; that Dr. Raheja treated Godfrey at Broughton
Hospital in June 1997; that defense counsel sought to introduce testimony concerning Godfrey's
discharge diagnosis; and that Godfrey reported hearing voices telling him to kill himself and others
less than one month before the murders. May relies upon this excluded testimony to support his
claim that the jury was prevented from hearing material evidence relevant to Godfrey's mental
state, credibility, and potential capacity for violence.
