May's allegation that neither Darrell Godfrey's interview nor the Defendant's interrogation was
audio or video recorded despite the availability of recording equipment during the investigation.
The cited trial testimony is relied upon to establish that video equipment was available and used to
record the Blue Ridge Parkway crime scene and that recorded interrogations were discussed in
connection with other capital cases. May cites these transcript passages to support his claim that
recording the interviews was feasible but was not done, even though Detective Judy Romick
prepared written accounts of both interviews and claimed to have written Godfrey's statement for
