May's allegation that Officer Judy Hensley, a witness who personally observed the Defendant for
several hours prior to interrogation, was not called to testify at either the pretrial suppression
hearing or trial. The cited transcript passages are relied upon to establish that Detective Judy
Romick testified regarding observations attributed to Officer Hensley despite Hensley not being
presented as a witness. May relies upon these transcript passages to support his claim that the
defense was denied the opportunity to cross-examine Hensley regarding the Defendant's
condition, demeanor, and conduct prior to interrogation and that testimony concerning Hensley's
observations was instead introduced through Detective Romick.
